This Wednesday, the newest music video from Daria & The Hip Drops for “Sun Goddess” will go live online. If you find yourself in New Orleans tomorrow evening (that’s Tuesday the 26th of April), The Rusty Nail will have a special performance from the band members and a premiere party for the new video. This video features members of the Nola Cherry Bombs and choreography from Jeremy Guyton.

Our official video for our track ‘Hole in Heart’ was premiered on The Vinyl District September 23rd. Tomorrow (in an hour) it will be public and go live everywhere online! We collaborated with L.A. based group Chaos Labs who were behind the recent Pepsi ads featuring David Beckham and Sofia Vegara. The whole thing was shot in Quincy Florida inside and old tobacco factory that Daria designed for the shoot. Peep it here:

Daria brought her steel pans on board to Mike Dillon’s Punk Rock Percussion Consortium this Sunday at Bayou Boogaloo in New Orleans. It was an all-star ensemble with New Orleans percussionists Mike Dillon, Stanton Moore, Aaron Walker, Jason Marsalis, Otto Schrang, Jesse Paige, Simon Lott, Paul Thibodeaux, Luke Quantana, Brian Coogan, Doug Belote and Andrew McLean on as many different percussion instruments you can fit on a stage. Thanks to Mike Dillon for putting together the madness!
Daria just got back from being on the road with Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band, and had a great time capping it off with Team Gleason! Daria & The Hip Drops will be back at it in New Orleans this Saturday March 28th at Irvin Mayfield’s new place, The Bolden Bar!
This weekend we teamed up with The Howlin’ Wolf New Orleans to bring together Ladies Night to benefit local group Hagar’s House. We couldn’t have done it without the fabulous performances from dance troupes The Nola Cherry Bombs, The Camel Toe Lady Steppers, The Star-Steppin’ Cosmonaughties, and The Sirens of New Orleans, and musical performances by The Fake Carls, Nyce, and Abby Diamond.
We’re teaming up with our friends in One Love Brass band to bring you Marley Gras at Little Gem Saloon Feb. 6th in New Orleans! We’ll be celebrating Bob Marley’s 70th bday with a tribute show.
